CGO Event: Kija Kim, President of Clark Hill Partners, LLC

November 10, 2009 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm

“Opportunity comes to prepared minds.”– Kija Kim

Kija Kim, President of Clark Hill Partners, LLC, a privately held investment management company, comes to the Simmons School of Management on November 10, 2009 to share her remarkable and inspiring journey from Korean immigrant to a proven and honored leader in business and social responsibility.

You are invited to attend the presentation by Kija Kim where she will share her many faceted journey and career, from her immigration to the US to attend college, through a successful career in GIS technology leading to founding her own company and become a pioneer as one of the first women to head a technology company.  The role her company, Harvard Design and Mapping (HDM), played in two major events in the US in the first part of the 21st century – September 11, 2001 and Hurricane Katrina – was significant in the recovery efforts following these events.

Coupled with her outstanding career, Ms. Kim has exemplified the meaning of principled leadership in both her business practices and her commitment to fully engage in her community.

The presentation and discussion will take place at 4 p.m. on November 10, 2009, in room 222 at the Simmons School of Management.  A reception will follow.

This event is co-sponsored by the Center for Gender in Organizations and the Academic Programs Office of the Simmons School of Management.  Prof. Lynda Moore, who has co-authored a case study about Kija Kim, will host the event.

RSVP to katlyn.cavanaugh@simmons.edu or call her at 617.521.3832 by November 7th.
