A modest manifesto of “small wins” has been the hallmark of the CGO approach to organizational change for over a decade. Dr Susan Harwood offers an alternative point of view, asserting that a more radical approach is needed in organizational contexts that are characterized by what she and others call “dense masculinity”. Drawing on research conducted over a three year period in policing in Australia, Dr Harwood will provide an analysis of what a “big wins” approach to organizational change looks like, including a description of the specific interventions implemented and a summary of what did and did not work.
The Spring 2008 CGO Distinguished Scholar Speaker Series highlights new, cutting-edge research that is relevant to CGO’s work. Each lecture will link theory and practice by offering an opportunity to discuss practical implications of the findings and apply them to our own situation.
