Join us for a conversation with Bonnie Hathcock, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of Humana, one of the nation’s largest publicly traded health benefits companies. In her introductory remarks and subsequent dialogue with Simmons College President, Helen Drinan, Bonnie will reflect on her role and experiences in leading and shaping Humana’s powerful integrated people system that has distinguished Humana as an industry leader. Bonnie has been named by HR Executive Magazine as one of the 25 most powerful women in Human Resources today.

This event will be held at the School of Management, 300 The Fenway, Boston. There will be a reception for all guests from 7:30-8:00 p.m.

Bonnie Hathcock

Bonnie C. Hathcock is Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Humana Inc., a Fortune 100 health solutions company. Working to create a culture of engagement, Bonnie leads the company in transforming human capital into a winning competitive advantage for Humana.

Bonnie leads all aspects of human resources including talent acquisition, diversity, learning, succession planning, leadership development, compensation and benefits, and health and wellness. In addition, Bonnie is responsible for corporate business services including procurement, business systems, and workplace solutions which includes Humana’s real estate portfolio.

One of Bonnie’s key accomplishments was to introduce an innovative benefits plan for associates known as MOCHA (More Options and Choices for Associates) which drove consumerism into health benefits for the first time. MOCHA has empowered Humana associates to become informed health care consumers and enabled the company to manage its rising health care costs. MOCHA has been translated into a successful product concept for Humana’s customers and consumers and has served to engage associates in the company’s business strategy.

Prior to joining Humana in 1999, Bonnie served as Vice President of Human Resources at US Airways, Vice President of Human Resources at Siemens-Rolm, and in sales and marketing leadership roles at Xerox Corporation.

Bonnie is currently a board member of the HR Policy Association and the National Business Aviation Association, Inc. In 2005, Bonnie was named one of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Human Resources. In 2007, in recognition of her leadership and contribution to the profession, Bonnie was named HR Executive magazine’s HR Executive of the Year.

Bonnie holds an MBA from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship of Nova Southeastern University. In addition, she is a graduate of the Executive Human Resources program at Stanford University’s School of Business.
